Skittles

It's another typical day. My 2 1/2 yr old just spilled all of the skittles from a zip lock bag into a pile of unfolded laundry. As I am watching him pick up the pieces with two very colorful, sticky hands-placing 1 out of every two or three into his drooling mouth I realized this image is quite a bit like my life. I sometimes feel as though I'm searching for the pieces, every once in a while those pieces will come together and create a beautiful rainbow. Other times I'm left with nothing but empty hands, drooling over the pieces that are being dropped, scattered, or crumbling before my eyes. One thing is for sure..I, just like my baby, am good at making sticky messes!

Keenan Nicholas Archer

We welcomed Keenan Nicholas Archer into the family on February 14, 2009 @ 3:00 AM. He was 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long! I was in Labor with him for about 36 hours. I thought he would never come, but as always God has his own perfect plan! Holding him in my arms filled me with such joy and overwhelming love. The boys and My mom came to the hospital to see him that evening after I had been able to rest. Ethan and Dylan were both so excited to see him and love on him. I was so happy to see that they both were also filled with love and were being so good with him. They still are, Dylan really surprised me because I thought he would be more jealous and acting out, but he has done nothing but good for his little bunny. That is what he likes to call him, he was going to call him Spiderman, but when he walked in and saw Keenan the first time he said that his name was bunny because he was cute like a little bunny. God has certainly blessed both Ethan and Dylan with such a great capacity for love. Ethan also has been great with the baby, of course! They both want to help with everything from combing his hair to changing his diaper!

Mom, Dad, and Mark came down to visit us and meet Keenan and we had a great visit. It is always enjoyable to spend time with them. The boys were so excited to have Mark here too, they had a blast with him.

Other than that, I have been trying to get back to "normal" I know this sounds strange to everyone outside of myself, but I feel as though everything has been so topsy turvey for me this past year and I have just been looking into my families life from the outside since I couldn't participate and do my normal duties as a wife and mom. One of the major things that we have slacked on is going to church. We have strayed so far from our normal almost daily bible studies and family prayer that the kids and I used to do and it really has reflected in a lot of our actions, unfortunately. So we are back to it.
